A life tuned to the forest
For more than fifteen years, Théo Rivière has roamed Caledonian forests in search of the rarest tree species. His hives, set at the forest's edge, live in near-freedom, far from pollution and monoculture, giving rise to a honey of rare intensity.
Choosing not to intervene
His philosophy fits in one sentence: let nature do its work. Théo keeps his interventions on the colonies to a strict minimum, favouring robust swarms and a late harvest that gives the bees time to draw on the forest's full floral richness.
A passion for honeys with character
This demanding approach yields a dark, complex, woody honey — much like the man who harvests it. Every jar of OROA's forest honey tells part of the story of this preserved Caledonian forest, and of the patient work of a beekeeper passionate about honeys with character.
