Fabien Ievlo
Harvesting beekeeper — Bourail, Boulouparis & Bouraké — Forest honey
A life tuned to the forest
For more than fifteen years, Fabien Ievlo has roamed Caledonian forests in search of the rarest tree species. His hives are spread across Bourail, Boulouparis and the locality of Bouraké, always at the forest's edge, far from pollution and monoculture, giving rise to a honey of rare intensity.
Choosing not to intervene
His philosophy fits in one sentence: let nature do its work. Fabien keeps his interventions on the colonies to a strict minimum, favouring robust swarms and a late harvest that gives the bees time to draw on the forest's full floral richness.
A passion for honeys with character
This demanding approach yields a dark, complex, woody honey — much like the man who harvests it. Every jar of OROA's forest honey tells part of the story of this preserved Bourail forest, and of the patient work of a beekeeper passionate about honeys with character.

This forest honey is also harvested by Théo Rivière, in the commune of La Foa.
